Meanwhile I am trying to develop the Poonam project I am participating in many fields in SUNCO renewable energy company. I started with the sustainable villages, and nowadays I am involved in the product design department, marketing, branding of the company, project department, construction and structural set up for photovoltaic installations all around the world, and commercial department aswell. No time for boring!
The POONAM project is the beginning of SUNCO Ecovillage. Poonam is a draft that I designed as a university subject for the Vicenç Ferrer foundation in India. Then SUNCO (a renewable energy company based in Barcelona) hired me to set up this project and many more in Asia. Nowadays I am redesigning and improving the project in terms of energy efficiency in order to create a selfsufficient village.
“A TWO TIMES THING…”
It is an architectural project located in the Sant Martí environment between the Greek and Roman ruins, the museum and the Mediterranean Sea.
When we got to the entrance to Sant Marti, topography opens slightly, leaving it a plain that extends to the ruins.
At the beginning of this level and through the trees, lies this building for a research center and audiovisual promotion of Mediterranean cuisine and a place for events between April and October. It starts in this area a pedestrian lane, passing a side of the proposed volume that leads us to the main entrance walking under a portion that rises from the ground, becoming the front part of the project that creates public spaces, covered by an emergin surface made of corten steel, that transfer its silhouette on the pavement.
Of this volume, which rises arise patios, or openings of which some triangular structure made up of pairs giant HEB 600 supports the weight of the front part of the building. All materials are recyclable, or already recycled. Like de composite decking floors, metallic structure, or the outern skin of the façade, composed by “clay strips”, in 3 different angles. As well the glass of the windows have 3 different glazing opacities depending on the uses behind them.
The geometry comes from an irregular mesh of hexagons that create a kind of vessels sometimes forming courtyards around which are organized programs such as kitchens and catering areas which may require more light, or more natural ventilation. Or sometimes filled when needed open spaces are needed lihe the T.V. set or the exhibition hall.
The hexagonal geometry and the emerging surface which was flipped, are the result of the addition of the encoded text “The Hutting Studio (a painter’s atelier in Paris) chapter of the book” The life instructions for use ” by Georges Perec AND! The previous analysis of the place through a single variable, the flooding study, which gives site-specific data.

A housing project based on the first personal object that we will bring to our new home. In my case, I choose a 20 years old filmaker folding chair, wich belonged to my brother. Is resistant, practical, logical and when we do not use it, it can disappear!! The project is based on this concept. The walls that we need to live every day, but when we do not need them we can hide them and obtain more free space for other activities. See here the model presentation.
This is a project, that will improve the live condition of farmers that comes from africa, to southern Europe. Our first goal, was to set up a housing project with a good thermal behaviour under the sun, with a low cost solar protection system. We considered to recycle the advertisement canvas, that we can find all over the façades of the big cities like Barcelona. Laura Gómez, Belén Callejas, Nadal Bennassar & me, were the creators of that easy, cheap and effective solution, to protect the containers. That type of canvas, is a microperforated surface, that will allow people from the interior be able to see the landscape, but do not allow to see what is inside to the outsiders.
